A Second World War period Soviet field medical kit satchel, containing many post-Second World War Eastern Bloc medications. The nature of the current contents suggest the possibility the bag was used as a home or professional kit.
Physical description
Green canvas satchel with long adjustable shoulder carrying handle, front opening with Red Cross emblem on flap, inside the satchel are the following items: three packets of assorted unknown pills (two foil wrapped and one plastic wrapped), one green plastic tube in wrapper (one of two present), one brown paper wrapped dressing (?), an unopened box of Ammnak, one tube of ВΑЗΕПИН, two stainless steel surgical instruments, one S-shaped orange rubber (?) tube with an adjustable collar disc contained inside a plastic wrapper, one handbook printed in Russian, two fabric-backed plastic wrapped dressings (grey with red print), three white paper wrapped dressings with blue print, one empty box of XAVIN, one box containing a brown glass bottle of unknown tablets complete with instructions in Russian, one box of 25 loose unknown white tablets with cotton wool, one small red round tin inscribed GOLDEN STAR AROMATIC BALM (Hanoi), one box of NORCOLUT inscribed with the word BUDAPEST, one plastic phial of unknown tablets with instructions for use in Hungarian, one yellow plastic measuring cup inscribed in Russian with scale 5 - 30 on the side, a brown glass jar containing an unknown liquid inscribed LINIMENTUM SYNTHOMYCINI 10%, one clear glass jar containing an unknown liquid inscribed SYNTHOMYCINI, one large brown plastic container inscribed HAPYKKHOE containing Solution of Jod Spirituosa 5%, one large yellow plastic container inscribed HAPYKKHOE containing Hydrogenii Peroxidi 3%, one brown glass jar containing 25(?) unknown tablets inscribed OLEANDOMICINI PHOSPHATIS, one brown glass jar containing an unknown liquid inscribed GUTTAE CONTRA ODONTALGIAM, one black plastic container with white label inscribed in Russian, one clear glass phial containing 10 white tablets inscribed HEXAMETHYLENTETRAMINI, one clear glass phial containing an unknown number of tiny white tablets (unknown), inside one of the side flap pockets of the satchel is coiled strip of red rubber inside a plastic wrapper, inside the opposite flap pocket is a wad of cotton wool. There is a metal whistle clipped to the satchel carrying handle.

History note
Soviet field medical kit in satchel containing many non-original contents including a variety of medical items from Russian and Hungary. Many of these medicinal products are related to women's health. It is possible that this set was used by female military personel, but it is more likely that it was used as a convenient holdall for a domestic medicine kit.
