As a global authority on conflict and its impact on people’s lives, IWM wants to engage with people from all over the world. Our social media activity is focused on helping people to learn more about and engage with our family of five museums, our wider public programme and collections.
We welcome discussion and debate on IWM channels, but we ask that all users abide by our Social Media House Rules:
1. All users must comply with the social media platform's Terms of Use, as well as those outlined here.
2. You are wholly responsible for any content you post including content that you choose to share.
3. We will remove, in whole or in part, posts which we feel are inappropriate, irrelevant, or deemed spam (persistent negative and/or abusive tweeting in which the aim is to provoke a response). Users who post such material will be blocked from accessing IWM channels.
4. We will report and remove any social media profiles falsely claiming to represent IWM, or using IWM logos and branding without our consent.

All of the information you give us is private and secure. We do not currently sell or rent personal data about our customers, and would not do so without asking you first. Under the UK Data Protection legislation, we follow strict security procedures in the storage and disclosure of personal data which you have given us to prevent unauthorised access. Our security procedures mean that we may occasionally request proof of identity before we are able to disclose personal data to you.

Policies & Procedures
IWM is committed to setting and maintaining high standards of service and operation across all its branches. Anyone who expresses dissatisfaction with any aspect of their visit or the services which the museum has provided can expect to have their complaint addressed as quickly as possible.
IWM has a formal complaints procedure for more serious issues relating to:
- Health and safety
- Museum policy
- The behaviour of museum staff
- Unfair treatment
- Contravention of laws or regulations.
