THE RICHEBOURG BED/To the cherished memory of/HUGH MACPHERSON aged 22 years,/Associate of Glasgow Institute of/Accountants and Actuaries/AND/GEORGE WALDO ALLAN aged 20 years,/Student of Medicine at Glasgow/University./Privates in 9th Battalion Highland Light/Infantry (Glasgow Highlanders) who fell/together in action at Richebourg, France,/on 17th May 1915//Devoted companions from boyhood, they/promptly volunteered together for service/in this great crisis, not counting their/lives dear to themselves, that they might/serve their Country in the cause of/Right and Liberty
