Description
Rectangular brass plaque mounted on a marble backboard. The plaque is bordered by a geometric design broken by 6 large screwheads. Within the plaque is a nowy headed design featuring a foliate design and a 10th Regiment crest in the top corners. A Lincoln Regiment crest sits at the top of the plaque below which the inscription is written in highly stylized gothic lettering. This plaque is linked to another at Hayton, about 6 miles east of Carlisle: our reference 67429.

Sacred to the memory of/ Lieutenant Herbert Reginald Curtis Graham,/ 2nd Battn 10th Regiment, who died of diphtheria/ at Malta, on the 27th of August 1880, aged 23, deeply missed [sic] by his brother Officers/ by whom this tablet was placed here.
