NEMO ME IMPUNE LACESSIT/THE ROLL OF HONOUR OF/MURTHLY & AIRNTULLY/PUBLIC SCHOOL/THE NAMES OF FORMER PUPILS/OF THIS SCHOOL WHO CAME FORWARD/IN THE SERVICE OF THEIR KING & COUNTRY/AND IN DEFENCE OF THE LIBERTY OF EUROPE/IN THE GREAT WAR WHICH COMMENCED/IN 1914 AND ENDED IN 1919/[names in 2 columns]/To the Glory of God & to the immortal Memory of the above, this Tribute was erected by former Pupils July 1919.   • Blairgowrie Advertiser Saturday 30th August 1919 Honouring the Brave Colonel Fothringham presided at a gathering in Murthly School to witness the unveiling,by Mrs Fothringham,of the School`s Roll of Honour,on which are engraved 52 names. Mr W Sprunt,headmaster, said that the memorial was probably unique in that it had been erected entirely by contributions from former pupils who were not privileged to wear the King`s uniform. Rev HK Reekie also took part in the ceremony.
