- PERTHSHIRE ADVERTISER: 26.10.1921 YORK PLACE U.F. CHURCH WAR MEMORIAL BEAUTIFUL TABLET UNVEILED The beautiful memorial tablet which has been placed in position in the York Place U.F. Church was unveiled and dedicated at the morning service on Sunday. The memorial consists of a bronze tablet mounted on green marble. The design shows lions rampant supporting a panel with inscription in incised letters, while underneath are the names of the fallen, with the regiments in which they served. Round the sides is a thistle ornament, with the symbols of the church - the Dove and the Burning Bush - and the St. Andrew's cross with the crown. The service was conducted by the minister, Rev. William Paterson, B.D., who preached from the text, "Ye are not your own, for ye are bought with a price" (1st Cor., 6-19). The memorial was unveiled by Mrs Sutherland, widow of the late minister of the congregation. After the unveiling and dedication, and the sounding of the 'Last Post', wreaths from the office-bearers of the congregation and the children of the Sabbath School were placed on the memorial.
