- Peterborough Standard Saturday 8/5/1920 reported: 'UPTON. WAR MEMORIAL.--A handsome carved oak tablet in the Parish Church was unveiled by the Lord Lieutenant (Mr. Howard Coote) on Sunday. It bears the inscription in incised letters: "To the Glory of God, and in memory of those parishioners who fell in the great war. 1914-1918: Charles F. Street. John W. Smith. Arthur E. Ball. John R. White. Harry C. White.
