Description
Recovered propeller from Blenheim R3800 with small plaques to the front either side (1991). At a later date (before 2015) the plaques were replaced with larger metal plaques (stainless steel or light alloy) with the dedications incised in black, capital letters.

TO THE MEMORY OF THOSE/ OF THE ROYAL AIR FORCE/ AND COMMENWEALTH AIR/ FORCES WHO LOST THEIR/ LIVES WHILE SERVING AT/ R.A.F. WOTTON/ AND BODNEY (This plaque replaces an earlier, smaller brass plaque with a slightly different dedication, which read: To the memory of those of/ The Royal Airforce and Commonwealth/ Airforces who lost their lives/ while serving at RAF Watton and Bodney - see link in references for image.) THIS PROPELLOR WAS/ RECOVERED FROM/ BLENHEIM R3800 WHICH/ WAS SHOT DOWN OVER/ AALBORG DENMARK ON/ 13TH AUGUST 1940 WHILE/ OPERATING OUT OF WATTON
