- Description
- Longitudinal engraved slate tablets, inscribed in white lettering. (Most of those named on this memorial were originally commemorated on the memorials that were erected after the World Wars by the relevant constituent Force for which they had worked, each of which has a separate entry on the War Memorials Register, e.g. Oxford City Police, Reading Borough Police etc; however, some names were included as the result of subsequent research conducted by members of Thames Valley Police. The memorial is displayed on the same wall as a separate slate tablet that records the names of Thames Valley Police officers who have died on Police duty).

- History
- Between September 2005 and April 2018: the slate memorial was separated into two panels, which were placed side by side on a different wall in the Reception area. When that alteration was made, the date "1939-1945" heading above the list of Buckinghamshire Constabulary's casualties during that War was left attached to the foot of the first panel, separated from the relevant list of names (which became the top section of the second panel)./ 2001: Errors/omissions on the tablets were identified. Research was carried out to ascertain all the information was correct before a new tablet was commissioned in 2004. It was erected as one very tall panel/ c1998: The slate memorial was erected.
