Description
Stone of remembrance made of black granite with polished top and front face. In the centre of the stone is the British Korean Veterans' symbol with the dates of the conflict on either side and dedication below. The stone is raised on a double stepped concrete base so it is positioned at an angle. The base sits in a bed of small pebbles enclosed by four kerbstones. On faces 1, 3 and 4 there are attached 32 small brass plaques inscribed with the names of Horncastle men who served in the conflict and have since died, eight of these were previously attached to the commemorative oak bench opposite. Behind the monument are two flagpoles, one flying the flag of South Korea and the other the Union flag. The commemorative oak bench which is situated on the pathway directly opposite, has one small brass dedicatory plaque remaining the others being moved to the main memorial.
