Description
Stained Glass Window-The central light of a group of three on the east side of the church and was dedicated on Remembrance Sunday,9th November 1947.The window was designed and executed by Margaret Kemp,Edinburgh. It is in memory of the members of the congregation who fell in the two world wars.It marks times of deliverance and victory in both wars when there has been sung in the Church of Scotland the metrical version of Psalm 124.The inscription " Broke are their nets" is from verse 7 of this psalm. The subject of the window is St Leonard, holding in his hand the broken fetters and at the bottom a broken net with escaping birds. It marks a time of thanksgiving for his great goodness to us and our allies.
