Description
CHAPEL RESTORATION WITH BOOK OF REMEMBRANCE (made of green leather with vellum pages). CHAPEL ALSO CONTAINS REGIMENTAL COLOURS AND A WINDOW WITH 55TH AND BORDER REGIMENT BADGES IN STAINED GLASS. THE COLOURS AND THE DRAGON FLAG CAPTURED IN CHINA IN 1841 ARE MOUNTED IN LARGE GLAZED PANELS HINGED TO OPEN LIKE A BOOK. The Book of Remembrance is kept in a locked glass case for preservation and is not normally available for inspection, but details are in a ring binder on top of the case. This was made in 2012 to replace an earlier 1969 book (which did not have names) which had decayed beyond repair.
