- LIFE SIZE BRONZE FIGURE OF A YOUNG OFFICER IN UNIFORM AND HELMET LEADING HIS PLATOON IN ATTACK. PARTIALLY TURNING ROUND, HE IS BECKONING HIS MEN ON. SET ON A PORTLAND STONE BASE. QUATERE-FOIL IN PLAN ARRANGED IN THREE MOULDED STONE STEPS ON WHICH STANDS A PORTLAND STONE PEDESTAL, THE FRONT AND BACK FACES ARE CURVED ON PLAN, THE FRONT FACE HAS A CARTOUCHE INSCRIPTION TABLET WITH CARTOUCHE INSCRIPTION TABLET OF LATE RENAISSANCE CHARACTER, WITH THE NOTTINGHAM COAT OF ARMS AT THE HEAD OF THE SHIELD AND THE MOTTO AND CREST OF THE SCHOOL AT THE FOOT. FURTHER INSCRIPTION ON REVERSE FACE. NAMES ON BRONZE PANELS ON THE SIDE OF THE PEDESTAL.

REVERSE FACE: GOD GAVE THEM A GREAT DUTY TO DO, AND THEY DID IT. / TE DEUM LAUDAMUS.
