  • Westminster Gazette - Monday 09 August 1920 MEMORIAL TO R.A.F. OFFICERS. "I am very glad to hear that you are dedicating a memorial for Walmer aerodrome. Please convey to those of the relatives who may be present my sincere and deep sympathey for the sore loss they have suffered in the death of the gallant men who gave their lives for their coluntry in tghe service to which I have the honour to belong." This was the Duke of York's message to the Countess beauchamp on the unveiling of a memorial at Walmer on Saturday to fifteen R.A.F. officers who fell in the war.
