FARMED WHITE MARBLE INSCRIPTION TABLET FLANKED BY TWO COLUMNS WHICH SUPPORT A ?NOWY-HEADED PEDIMENT. INSCRIPTION IN BLACK LETTERING. WHOLE IS SUPPORTED BY TWO BRACKETS GOLD-COLOURED CREST AT THE TOP CENTRE OF THE FRAME

ANKETELL MOUTRAY READ V.C./ NORTHAMPTONSHIRE REGT AND THE ROYAL FLYING CORPS,/ WHOSE MORTAL REMAINS LIE AT/ LE RUTOIRE NEAR LOOS, WHERE/ HE GAVE HIS LIFE FOR HIS COUNTRY/ IN THE BATTLE OF THE 25TH SEPT 1915./ HIS GALLANTRY, WHEN HE WAS/ PARTLY GASSED, IN RALLYING MEN/ UNDER A WITHERING FIRE, GAINED/ HIM THE HIGHEST MILITARY HONOUR./ BORN OCT. 27TH 1884./ "FAITHFUL UNTO DEATH"
