Description
Brick base surmounted by double plinth, shaft and cross with gabled top. Inscription and WW1 names carved on the sides of the plinth and WW2 names listed on bronze plaques attached to the sides of the plinth.

Condition
History
c 2001: Cross broken off by a reveller who climbed the memorial during New Year. It was repaired and the work paid for by the family of the person who did it. 2003: The memorial was Grade II listed on the 14th August 2004: The shaft was broken almost in half and the cross broken off completely during New Year celebrations when a reveller climbed to the top. A quote for the cost of the repair work was around £2000 2006: The Council has applied for funding to repair the memorial through the English Heritage/Wolfson Foundation War Memorial Grant ;Scheme Proposed work included: Cleaning Re-pointing Replace damaged stonework Repair plinth Lay sandstone paving
