Project Description

To commemorate the First World War Centenary in Ticknall (Derbyshire), a special Memorial Map was designed by local blacksmith David Tucker with illustrations drawn by Juliet Boucher. The Map named all those who served and those who died from Ticknall. The photo shows Juliet and David with their work. An exhibition was also held in Ticknall Village Hall, which contained photos, stories and war-era memorabilia, over a period of three days. Local people from the village provided all the material for the exhibition. Tea and cakes were served to those who attended - all proceeds from the event were donated to the Royal British Legion.
