- Description
- Red sandstone octagonal column on an octagonal base and plinth, surmounted by a lantern containing carved figures. The octagonal base has metal plaques on each face with the names of the fallen of WW1 and WW2. The octagonal column has an elaborate 4-sided gableted latern with diagonal buttresses, crocketed decoration and surmounted by a cross finial. Shallow niches to each side of the lantern contain carved figures. The female figure represents Peace/Victory, there is a WW1 soldier to the right, a soldier in armour to the rear, and a knight to the rear. All fiures have bowed heads.
