- Wall mounted backboard supporting an elaborately decorated tablet displaying raised insignia badges and motifs. Incised inscription infilled with black paint. A pair of outward-facing oars are mounted on the backboard immediately below the tablet.

- IN MEMORY OF / HENRY JAMES BOYTON. B.A. CAMB. / LIEUTENANT, GRENADIER GUARDS. / WHO FELL IN THE BATTLE OF THE SOMME. / ON THE 14TH OF DECEMBER 1916. AGED 25. / ONLY SON OF / SIR JAMES BOYTON, M.P. AND LADY BOYTON. / THAMES LAWN, MARLOW. If I should die, think only this of me: That there's some corner of a foreign field/ That is for ever England.
