- Mention in report on memorial pavilionABERDEEN GRAMMAR SCHOOL WAR MEMORIAL PAVILION. The handsome war memorial pavilion, erected on the Rubislaw Field—the Grammar School recreation ground—where the school sports took place at the week-fend, was open for the inspection of visitors on Saturday. A large and representative company took advantage of the occasion. There was no formal opening ceremony, and tea was served in the main hall of the pavilion. It was intended that there should have been a ceremony appropriate to- the event, but the committee in charge had decided to dispense with this. In the scheme as originally outlined, the names of all the former pupils who fell in the war were to be inscribed on panels inside the pavilion, but in view of the erection by the Aberdeen Education Authority the very beautiful and elaborate memorial in the School .Hall, it, was obviously unnecessary repeat the names in the pavilion. It appeared to the committee that nothing should.be done either to add to, or possibly detract from, the impressive ceremony which accompanied the unveiling last year by Lord Alness of the memorial in the school.
