- Rectangular marble tablet enclosing a brass plate. Tablet has rectangular pediment supported by two columns with corbels at base. Pediment features the City Arms. Tablet is veined marble. Lettering on plaque is engraved in red and black.

- THIS TABLET COMMEMORATES/THE PATRIOTISM OF THE UNDERNAMED CITIZENS AND SONS/OF THE CITY OF BATH AND OTHERS FROM THE/COUNTY OF SOMERSET WHO IN A TIME OF GREAT NATIONAL STRESS/VOLUNTEERED FROM THIS CITY IN THE YEAR OF 1900 AND SERVED THEIR/QUEEN AGAINST THE ENEMIES OF THEIR COUNTRY IN SOUTH AFRICA.
