- Description
- Childrens' ward of Finchley Memorial Hospital named to commemorate Summerlee Auxiliary Military Hospital, Fortis Green, East Finchley, London N2 (1916-1918). Summerlee, a large mansion, became a VAD Hospital run by Dr JW (or TW) Hicks, a member of the staff of the Finchley Cottage Hospital (renamed Memorial Hospital in Nov. 1922).

- January 2010 -Barnet Council gave permission for hospital buildings to be demolished and replaced. Demolition had been completed by May 2013; c1918-22 beds and other equipment were donated by the Summerlee Hospital committee to the then Finchley Cottage Hospital, together with a donation of £1,000 to their Extension Fund.
