History
2005: Restoration work on the war memorial took place; 2001: Memorial in need of repair; 1994: Memorial was repaired by a specialist and was re-erected in spring 1994.; 1993: Repaired and replaced; 1991: The angel statue fell down and broke into several pieces whilst being cleaned by a local stone mason for the RBL. It was the result of not being propery fixed originally. c.1970: An attempt was made to refurbish the inscriptions and a list of names but it was decided that the corrosion of the lead and adjacent marble was too bad and therefore new marble plates were fixed over the existing faces of the memorial by a local stone mason. This was when the spelling error of "Parishoners" instead of "Parishioners" was made.
