Description
Marble tablet in its own frame: the whole is encased in a wooden outer frame, made of oak. A rectangular gery marble tablet bears the inscription set into a brown marble scrolled frame. The tablet is mounted and framed in oak that forms a grooved rail on each side extended above and below the horizontals and finished with a billeted heading. Lettering roman incised capitals. The capitals and frames are infilled with red paint, the remainder black.

IN MEMORY OF/TROOPER ERNEST BELL,/AGED 25,/15TH KING'S HUSSARS,/WHO WHILE ON DUTY WAS DROWNED/IN CROSSING THE RIVER JUMNA, INDIA/JUNE 26. 1909./THIS TABLET WAS ERECTED BY THE OFFICERS./NON-COMMISSIONED OFFICERS AND MEN OF/THE C SQUADRON OF HIS REGIMENT.
