Obverse text:: "VICTORIA REGINA ET IMPERATRIX".
Reverse design: soldier, British infantryman, standing to the left of a flagstaff from which hangs the Royal Standard. In his right hand he carries a rifle, his left hand supports the flagpole. To the right stands an Indian cavalryman, his right hand supports the flagpole, his left hand rests upon the hilt of his sheathed sword. Around the edge, the text, the whole executed in high relief .
Reverse text: "INDIA 1895".
Suspender: ornate bar, scrolled, swivel.
Ribbon colours: crimson & green.
Ribbon pattern: crimson/green/crimson/green/crimson.
Clasp (when awarded): straight bar with fish-tail ends and double raised edges outlining its shape, supported at each end by a rosette.

Vctorian issue India campaign service medal awarded to Gunner J C Miles, 18 Company FD, Royal Artillery, in connection with British punitive expeditions on the North West Frontier between 1897 and 1898.
