Collection of photographs related to the service of William George Cottier, Chief Petty Officer, Shipwright (later Chief Shipwright Artificer) during his service in the Royal Navy 1937-1959. As well as many personal portraits, ships portraits (including HMS SUPERB, HMS GUARDIAN, HMS VENERALBLE, HMS INDOMITABLE, HMS FORDIBLE, HMS IRON DUKE, HMS RESOLUTION, HMS ROYAL SOVEREIGN, HMS ROYAL OAK, HMS NELSON, HMS VINDICTIVE, HMS HOOD HMS REVENGE, HMS WARSPITE, HMS NEWCASTLE, HMS FROBISHER, HMS LORD ROBERTS) this collection also covers Cottier's service aboard HMS GUARDIAN 1937-1943 (destroyed aircraft after landings at Diego Suarez, Madagascar), HMS VENERABLE 1944-1947 (deck scenes Fairey Barracuda take offs and landings; aircraft crash landings), HMS BIRMINGHAM 1955-1956.

Also included are a selection of images depicting a military parade possibly a victory parade in London and family photographs.
