ROYAL NAVY PEOPLE MAKING A DIFFERENCE [Main Title]
A Royal Navy recruitment film aimed at encouraging recruitment from diverse and ethnic groups within society.
The film shows interviews with ratings and officers from the Navy who represent some of the groups being targeted and highlights the opportunities and career paths available within the Navy. Interviews with Gatekeepers (key people from society who have access to potential recruits within the groups being targeted) before and after a day spent showing them what the modern Navy has to offer clearly reflects their negative, stereotypical views on the Navy before the day starts, as opposed to their positive and completely different views after the days activities. Gatekeepers interviewed are Shamusideen Oluganna (Administrative Executive), Claire Jackson (Management Consultant), HarinderPanesor (Race Equality Officer), Richard Riley (Careers Adviser) and Robbie Kler (Diversity Consultant).
Also includes interviews with Vice Admiral Sir Peter Spencer, teh Second Sea Lord and C in C Naval Home Command: Graham Dingwall, an Operator Mechanic on a submarine OM(SM): Corporal Elliot Tannah, a Royal Marine: Lieutenant Polly Robinson, an Assistant Air Engineering Officer from 845 NAS: Commander Joe de Gama, a Diversity Officer in the Royal Navy.
