Correspondence regarding enquiries into suitable artists from Northern Ireland. The Committee wrote to R V (Dick) Williams in Belfast, asking for recommendations, as they had done for Scottish Artists. Williams provided details of six artists, William Conor, George McCann, Boyd Morrison, John Hunter, John Luke and Colin Middleton. He also mentioned Sidney Smith. The file contains other papers relating to Northern Irish artists including a recommendation of Angela (Countess of) Antrim, from Roy Harrod. Some of the artists recommended by Williams had already written proposing themselves, such as Morrison.
