A collection of 433 ms letters, air mail letters, airgraphs, postcards and telegrams, to his wife Rosina, living in Chingford, relating to his service in the Royal Armoured Corps, starting July 1942 with his training in 'D' Squadron, 60th Training Regiment RAC, Catterick Camp, Yorkshire (July - August 1942), then 'E' Squadron, 52nd Training Regiment RAC, Lulworth, Dorset (September - October 1942), and 'C' Squadron 52nd TR RAC, Bovington Camp, Dorset (October 1943), writing while sailing on draft to the Middle East, from 2 TS RAC Base Depot, Middle East Force (January 1943), joining 'C' Squadron 45th Royal Tank Regiment RAC (February 1943), then Holding Battalion RAC (March 1942) and Advanced, later 1st, Reinforcement Unit RAC (April 1943), before joining 'B' Squadron, 50th Royal Tank Regiment RAC (May 1943), moving to North Africa, then to Italy (August 1943), until he was admitted to 12th British General Hospital because for some time 'my nerves have not been all they might be' on his Medical Officer's advice, with good descriptions of his post traumatic stress or shell shock, his discharge and move to 162 Transit Camp MEF and then Depot Squadron, RAC Training Depot MEF (December 1944), and his return home (April 1945). Together with: 13 air mail letters (26pp) from Rosie to Leslie (January - April 1945) writing from Gedling, Nottinghamshire, mentioning her depression that they are unable to start a family because of the war; and letters sent to him and Rosina from other friends and family.
