Ts transcripts of two letters (2pp) describing his enrolment, when serving as a Sub Lieutenant RN, as a special constable in London during the General Strike in May 1926; various papers relating to his command of the destroyer HMS THRACIAN on the China Station in 1938 - 1939 including official documents relating to a strategical game on the disposition of the China Fleet in the event of the outbreak of war in Europe and copy extracts (4pp) of letters about local difficulties between the Royal Navy and the Japanese in the Far East; notes on combined operations during the Second World War prepared on a staff course in 1947 and similar notes on chemical warfare produced in 1953; also two personal letters from Michael Stewart MP and General Sir Walter Walker concerning the establishment of the "Civil Assistance" organisation in 1975.
