Ts transcript (28pp) of an undated account by an unidentified commissioned/warrant officer in the battle cruiser HMS REPULSE of the sinking of the ship and HMS PRINCE OF WALES by Japanese aircraft off the east coast of Malaya on 10 December 1941 with particular reference to the effects of the air attacks on the ship, the performance of REPULSE's anti aircraft armament during the action, the conduct of the ship's company, his assistance to the wounded, the hazards of abandoning ship, his one and a half hours in the sea until he was rescued by the destroyer HMS ELECTRA, her passage back to Singapore and the survivors' discharge to the Fleet Shore Accommodation; together with photocopies of the first and last pages of the original manuscript.
