A collection of papers relating to his service as Intendant General Middle East Forces, 1941 - 1942, consisting of a folder marked 3A containing correspondence and reports on Transportation Projects, Port Discharge and Clearance, and the Working of Suez; a folder marked 4E containing correspondence and reports on the `cereal' situation in the Middle East, Middle East Supply Council meeting minutes, the Syrian Wheat situation, and African supplies; a folder marked 9 containing general correspondence, press notices, reports on petrol, pay and allowances, a report on the shipping position in the Middle East; a folder containing a brief account of the Intendant General's activities, June - August 1941; a folder marked 12 containing a brief report (30pp) by General Haining on his findings in the Middle East for the period June - December 1941; a folder marked 9 containing a Second and final report of the Intendant General's Department from October 1941 to the abolition of the Department in January 1942; a folder containing a diary of a member of General Haining's staff with details of his journey home from Egypt, and a report by General Haining of his flight home, plus a diary of his activities after arriving in the UK; an envelope containing correspondence concerning General Haining's lectures on the post-war disarmament of Germany; and a small collection of photographs of General Haining and his staff.
