Ms account (5pp, written in the form of a letter to the IWM in 1996) of his evacuation as a young boy with his mother and siblings from their home in Highams Park, east London to the village of Copplestone, Devon (1940 - 1941), to Great Hallingbury, Hertfordshire (1944) and to Birmingham (1944), including memories of agricultural life, the American air base at Stansted, Hertfordshire, his education, and the effect of evacuation on him; together with three ms and ts memos retained by his father while a member of the ARP staff in Bethnal Green, east London, congratulating the group on their performance during raids of March and May 1941, a brief ts account (1p, written 1979) by his father of an incident concerning babies during the Blitz when serving as Public Health Inspector for Bethnal Green, and a copy of a German reconnaissance photograph of the Hale End area of east London/Essex.
