Brief ts (5pp) and ms (1p) account written in 1989 describing incidents of her life as a salesgirl in Woolworths before moving from Buxton, Derbyshire, volunteering with her sister for the WAAF at Guildford in 1941, posting to Innsworth, Gloucestershire, her training as a driver at Blackpool,her lodgings and entertainment there, her posting to the Balloon Station at RAF Titchfield: duties, vehicle inspection and maintenance, sports and entertainment, D-Day celebrations, the different nationalities in the camp, service as an ambulance driver and description of her reaction to seeing wounded in an Army hospital (March 1945), posting to RAF Netheravon (March 1945) and then to RAF Brighton where she met her husband, and to Birmingham for her discharge in November; also a description of her current attitude toward her war service and the lasting camaraderie which developed.
