Judith Hewitt is the Manager of The Devil’s Porridge Museum in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. She graduated with a BA in History and an MA in Local and Regional History from Nottingham University. She taught Secondary School History for several years and was a successful Head of History. She managed the Museum of Witchcraft and Magic from 2013 to 2018 and curated the exhibitions ‘Glitter and Gravedust: Halloween Past and Present’ and ‘Dew of Heaven: Objects of Ritual Magic’. She has been Manager of The Devil’s Porridge Museum since 2018 during which time the Museum has achieved Accreditation, won a Scottish Thistle Award for Tourism and been shortlisted for the ‘Most Family Friendly Museum in the UK.’ The Museum’s 2019 exhibition, ‘Love in Wartime’ which Judith curated, gained national publicity and is now on tour. She has recently delivered papers at the Women’s History Network AGM and The National Army Museum’s Propaganda conference.
