HS VICTORIOUS WAS LENT TO THE USN. 9 JULY 1943. ON BOARD THE 23,000 TON BRITISH AIRCRAFT CARRIER HMS VICTORIOUS WHILE SHE WAS CO-OPERATING WITH THE UNITED STATES NAVY IN THE PACIFIC OCEAN. SHE WAS LENT TO THE PACIFIC FLEET WHILE IT WAS TEMPORARILY SHORT. AT ONE TIME DURING THIS PERIOD BRITISH AND AMERICAN AIRCREWS TEMPORARILY EXCHANGED AIRCRAFT CARRIERS, US PILOTS LANDED ON THE VICTORIOUS AND THE BRITISH PILOTS ON THE USS SARATOGA.
