image: a head and shoulders portrait of Squadron Leader S G Wise DFC, wearing uniform with the medal ribbon of his Distinguished Flying Cross visible on his tunic.


Wise joined the RAF in 1936 and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross on 29 July 1940.


Born at Worcester Park in Surrey in 1917, this officer was educated at King's College School, Wimbledon. He joined the RAF in 1936. He was awarded the DFC on 29th July 1940.
