From Portsoy and district 77 men paid the supreme sacrifice in the service of King and country in the Great War, and their memory was fittingly commemorated on Saturday, when a monument of a .soldier in full war dress was unveiled. The ceremony was to have been performed by the Duke of Richmond and Gordon, the Lord-Lieutenant of the County, but owing to illness he was unable to be present, and his place was taken by Col. J. J.
