- Celtic cross of sacrifice on tall square pillar, which is on a square plinth and two step base. This is on a raised dais which os reached by 6 steps from the street. The WW2 names are on 2 tablets on the wall behind the cross There is a sword on the front face of the pillar, and shields on each face of the capital: South: Lion Rampant West: Thistle North: Saltire ( St Andrew's Cross) East: St George and the Dragon The names commemorated include Lieutenant Colonel W H Anderson VC
