- History
- 2014: Column and book re-engraved using a £2,370 grant from War Memorials Trust. 2006: Refurbished. The inscriptions in the plinth, which had become difficult to read, have been covered with tablets of black polished granite with the with the roll of honour now in embossed style of lettering. Inscriptions in the book are becoming difficult to read. 1990: The Llantwit-Major Town Council has employed C J Ball Stone-Masons of Barry to clean and re-cut lettering of both the cross and the book. 1983-1984: The railing around the memorial was erected, free of charge by a resident who manufactured them at his engineering firm at Llandow Industrial State. 1947-1948: Prayer book was erected.
