Description
Gateway at the start of the path leading to the church. Stone arch with two gateposts. On these gateposts are tablets inlaid into the pillar on which the names are inscribed. Above this are two small stone statues positioned in recesses in the pillar. They depict chain-armoured knights, one representing a Knight Hospitaller of St George and the other represents a Knight Templar. The arch is a pointed arch and at the apex is a latin cross decorated with a maltese cross fixed to the stonework. Moulded dedicatory inscription around the front face of the arch, and the initials of those whose names are on the tablets are repeated in small shields either side at the beginning and end of the dedicatory inscription.
