- Description
- Ornate nowy-headed oak board with carved decoration and inscriptions, with an additional small brass plaque regarding donors on its bottom edge. A carved frieze of oak leaves and acorns surrounds the inscriptions. At the top the Wigan Coat of Arms is surrounded by a laurel wreath, linked by the names of theatres of the War on scrolls to shields bearing the national flowers of England (rose) and Scotland (thistle), this motif is repeated below the Dedication and the Names, with the flowers of Ireland (shamrock) and Wales (daffodil). The names are inscribed, all others wording is in carved relief.
