Description
Granite Celtic cross on a granite base. The 12 o'clock face of the base is polished and the names of the fallen from WW1 are inscribed beneath the badge of the Royal Monmouthshire Royal Engineers and a commemorative inscription. A polished granite tablet at the foot of the cross gives the names of the members of the regiment who died in WW2. Further polished granite tablets placed at the base of the 3 and 9 o'clock faces in 2018 record the names of Royal Monmouthshire Royal Engineers who fell in WW1 while on detached duty and not originally included on the memorial. The regimental badge appears on the tablet on the 3 o'clock face.
