Description
Wall mounted, landscape orientated nowy-headed incised stone tablet with single-lined border. Coloured badge at centre top, divides one line of inscription. Beneath badge, main name in capitals, infilled in red paint. Remainder of inscription infilled in black paint.

In proud and loving memory / RICHARD JUXON PEARCE / Lieutenant 15th -19th Kings Royal Hussars / killed in battle at the crossing of the Seine / 18 August 1944 aged 21 years. Only son / of of William and Cynthia Pearce at one time / of Willoughby House / Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God / Also of Troopers H Drake and T Dakin who / fell by his side / Greater love hath no man than this that a man lay / down his life for his friends
