PARK WITH DEDICATORY MONUMENT PLACED WITHIN IT. MONUMENT IS FORMED BY TWO STEPPED BASE SURMOUNT BY PLINTH, TWO COLUMNS AND FLAT CENTRAL SECTION. DEDICATORY INSCRIPTION ON A PLAQUE ATTACHED TO THE FRONT FACE.

IN MEMORY OF THE HEBBURN MEN WHO LAID DOWN THEIR LIVES IN THE SERVICE OF THEIR COUNTRY AND AS A TOKEN OF GRATITUDE FOR THE SAFE RETURN OF HIS ONLY SON JOHN CAMPBELL CANN-ELLISON LIEUTENANT 1ST ROYAL DRAGOONS REAR: THIS STONE WAS ERECTED BY HEBBURN U.D.C.
