Three albums of prints relating to VADs (Voluntary Aid Detachment) and nurses serving on the Salonika front and on Malta during the First World War. Subjects from Salonika include views of a British hospital attached to the Serbian Army near the Moglena Mountains; wounded Serbian soldiers being transported my motor ambulance and mule cacolet; French troops in camp, at rest and being transported by railway; a French military band playing at the British hospital; wreckage of a crashed ambulance train; a German bomb exploding near the hospital; a visit to the hospital by the Crown Prince of Serbia; a view of Vertekop village; a VAD and Serbian soldier at the crash site of German Zeppelin LZ. 85 and a close up view of carving on the Arch of Galarius in Salonika.
The photographs taken on Malta cover St Andrew's, St George's, St Paul's and Dragonara hospitals. There are numerous group and individual portraits of VADs, nurses and patients (many named). In addition, a number of photographs cover outings made by the VADs to such places as Valletta. Other interesting photographs include VADs on board the hospital ship HMHS BRITTANIC; interior and exterior views of Pembroke Church and VADs at work scrubbing floors and chairs in one of the hospitals. The collection also includes three photographic Christmas Cards.

Three photograph albums containing black and white photographic prints.
Album 1: A grey card covered Kodak 'Handicraft' album with laced in pages. The front cover bears the word 'ALBUM' in gold inside a wreath design. The photographic prints are glued to the album pages and captions, handwritten in ink are to be found on some of the pages.
Album 2: A brown cloth covered album with the word 'Reminiscences' in white on the front cover. Inside the front cover is written 'To dearest Georgina with love from May E Walsh 16/12/16'. The album pages are of slip-in 'frame' design, with the majority of prints held in place by adhesive lables.
Album 3: Brown leather covered album with laced-in pages (probably locally produced on Malta). The photographic prints are glued to the album pages, some of the pages bear captions handwritten in ink.
