Opening sequence shows USS Waldron (699) coming alongside the cameraship, HMS King George V, to transfer Japanese pilot and translator. MLS of HMS Duke of York flying Admiral's flag and White Ensigns at masthead and peak, anchored in Yokohama Bay - US battleships in the background. LS pan across the bay from cruiser HMS Gambia to Newfoundland - US cruisers of Baltimore Class (?) in the background - a small launch crosses left to right in foreground. LA.MCU of White Ensign on ensign staff, and pan down to RM guard of the day patrolling quarterdeck with slung rifles. LS from quarterdeck of King George V at sea to three destroyers in line astern - probably HMS Quality followed by Napier and Nizam. MLS in anchorage to a passing Benson-Livermore Class destroyer. Cameraship passes three US battleships - South Dakota Class and two Iowas - and crosses the bows of anchored Duke of York - Quality, fitted with prominent SW.RDF amidships, steams left to right to pass astern of the British flagship. HA.MS onto focsle as port anchor is let go in a cloud of rust - four paravanes are stowed immediately behind the breakwater, and five Oerlikons are disposed in an arc before A turret. CUs of two crewmen looking out over the bay - they share a pair of binoculars. Final LS over anchorage - US destroyers move to and fro.
