Anecdotal and brief ts memoir (28pp, with many illustrations, written in March 2008) with few dates recording his service with the Royal Army Service Corps (RASC) (1938 – July 1945), including volunteering at 18 for the Territorial Army (1938); being called up (September 1939) as part of the 1st Cavalry Division); his promotion to Captain (August 1941) in 208th Coy RASC and embarking overseas to Suez via Freetown, Sierra Leone and Durban, South Africa; being attached to the 4th Indian Division transporting Italian prisoners of war (no dates); being wounded by shrapnel exploding Italian 'thermos' bombs with a rifle (no date); supplying shells to 3 RHA (131st Brigade) at El Alamein (?October 1942); joining 7th Armoured Brigade as the Ammunition Officer at the request of the CRASC; resting at Homs (September 1943) preparing for the invasion of Italy and participating in the Homs St Leger Meeting (horse racing) organized by 7th Armoured Division; landing at Salerno (September 1943) and in Normandy (June 1944); being wounded and receiving the immediate award of the MC while commanding a forward ammunition point of the 507th Troop Carrying Vehicle (TCV) Company RASC (July 1944); advancing into Germany and capturing Hamburg while attached to 131st Brigade; and leading 507 Company RASC in the Victory Parade in Berlin as the acting CO (July 1945); and commenting on German air raids; fraternization; his visit to Berlin (July 1945); and mentioning Field Marshal Viscount Montgomery (pp.6, 21 and 26); General Sir George Erskine (p.8); and Major General G L Verney (p.22 and back cover).
