Self-published pamphlet (31pp) containing an account, written in 1921 of her time initially as a German censor at the War Office Military Intelligence Headquarters (August 1917) and then as an Intelligence Officer in the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps [WAAC] at St Omer, France (September 1917- December 1918), including good descriptions of visiting her family and obtaining her uniform in Manchester; the journey to St Omer via Boulogne (September 1917); her work decoding intercepted German messages; Gotha air raids; the naivety of new recruits and the hardships and privations of camp life; her involvement in the camp mess and hosting a Christmas party for the local troops (December 1917); watching gassed horses being escorted from the front line (Spring 1918) and observing French refugees arriving in St Omer ahead of the German advance (March 1918); her return to the UK for a period of leave, finding the camp evacuated on her return and subsequent transfer to Etaples (April 1918), where she remained until the end of the war, returning to the UK in December 1918.
