Stephen Bourne will explore the experiences of black British men and women both in the trenches and on the Home Front during the First World War. Community historian, Stephen Bourne, is the author of several well received books on the black British experience of war including Black Poppies, The Motherland Calls and Mother Country. This event is also part of Lewisham’s Black History Month programme. Taking place at Deptford Lounge, 9 Giffin Street, Deptford, SE8 4RJ, 19:00 to 20:30.
